The schedule for 2011-2012 includes workshops sponsored by PROMISE, The Graduate School, and the Faculty Development Center. A set of workshops related to international teaching experiences are offered as part of the new “Professors Beyond Borders” (PBB) series. As of 2011, UMBC is part of the national “Professors Beyond Borders” network for graduate students and faculty with interests in long or short-term international teaching and administration experiences, particularly in underdeveloped regions.

- Teaching Disciplinary Thinking (Speakers: Dr. Linda Hodges, Director of the UMBC Faculty Development Center)
- Blackboard (Speaker: Karin Readel, Director of Instructional Technology)
- Conflict Resolution (Speakers: Stephanie Lazarus and Jeff Cullen from Judicial Affairs)
- Information to assist students with disabilities (Speaker: Assoc. Vice Provost Cynthia Hill)
- The PROF-it program ($2000 to teach at Community College)
- Applying for the “Introduction to an Honors University” teaching opportunity ($1000)
- Panels of experienced TAs and instructors for Social Sciences and Humanities disciplines, and for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields.
- 1:00 Lunch seminar on Life/Work Balance with Dr. Robert Deluty, Professor of Psychology.
