TA Training/Teaching & Learning Workshop, and Life/Work Balance Lunch – Both on Friday, August 24, 2012 at UMBC

The following seminars will be held at UMBC on Friday, August 24, 2012:
1. “TA Training/Teaching and Learning Workshop”
This workshop is for all new teaching assistants *and* all students who want to learn more about teaching. We will discuss issues pertinent to TAs, pedagogy, and “PROF-it” (Professors in Training) opportunities for teaching at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) – $2000 opportunity, and teaching at UMBC as part of the “Intro to an Honors University” ($1000 opportunity.)
2. Life/Work Balance Lunch Seminar with Dr. Robert Deluty
This workshop is for all graduate students! New and continuing graduate students are welcome to attend. Dr. Deluty is one of our psychology professors and he is taking time to share his expertise with the graduate students. Dr. Deluty is a prolific poet, has been a professor of psychology for more than 30 years, and has a clinical psychology practice.
